Brown Sugar and Wild Cherry-Glazed Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound Chicken Wings
  • 6 ounces Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Wild Cherry Juice
  • Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable Oil, for frying
  • Serbian Ground Chili or Red Pepper Flakes

Directions (Taken from the Video)

  1. Heat a skillet of oil on the stovetop over medium high heat (or a campfire, if you are so inclined).
  2. Carefully add chicken wings and deep fry for 15 – 20 minutes.
  3. When wings are done, remove them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Set aside.
  4. When pan has cooled enough to touch, pour off grease and whip with a paper towel.
  5. Return pan to heat.
  6. Add brown sugar and allow to melt and caramelize. Work the pan on the heat so that it does not burn (See the video.)
  7. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
  8. Add wild cherry juice. Continue to heat and work the pan.
  9. When the sauce is nice and caramelized, add back in the wings and stir well to fully coat.
  10. Remove wings to a serving platter and drizzle with remaining sauce.
  11. Sprinkle with ground chili or pepper flakes.

Enjoy.
