Hawaiian Habanero Pineapple Wings Recipe
Ingredients (Taken from the Video)
- 12 Chicken Wings
- Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper, to taste
- King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Pineapple BBQ Sauce® or other Sweet BBQ Sauce, of your choice
- 1 6-ounce can Pineapple Juice or 6-ounces freshly pressed Pineapple Juice
- 1/2 Habanero Pepper, chopped
Directions (Taken from the Video)
- In a small sauce pan, combine the BBQ sauce, pineapple juice and habanero.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a gentle boil and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Season wings with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Spray a cooking pan with cooking spray and add wings in a single layer.
- Bake wings until cooked through, about 20 – 25 minutes, turning at least once about 1/2 way through cooking.
- Remove wings from oven and let cool.
- Heat grill to a medium high setting or fire.
- Place wings on grate and generously brush with prepared BBQ sauce.
- Allow to cook for just a minute, turn over and generously brush other side with prepared BBQ sauce.
- Again, allow to cook for about 1 – 2 minutes and repeat the steps of turning and brushing 4 to 6 times, to let the BBQ sauce caramelize on the wings. Be extra careful not to burn the sugar in the sauce. If you need to, move the wings to a cooler part to the grill.
- When wings and sauce are down to your liking, remove from the grill and serve.
