Honey Lime Chicken Wings Recipe
Honey Lime Chicken Wings have a nice balance between sweet and sour. Plus, they are so simple to make that you can whip some up for any occasion.
Honey Lime Chicken Wings
I love all of the ingredients in this sauce, honey, garlic and, especially, lime. So this combination was a total no-brainer for me when I saw it floating around on the internet. I searched and found good recipe on AllRecipes. I adapted it a bit by adding some heat with a serrano pepper.
This recipe is pretty good as is — but I might work on it a bit. It needs more lime flavor to balance the sweetness of the honey. Also, I might play with it a little to get the sauce thicker. It is very easy to make, though. The hardest part is getting enough lime zest. It took me several minutes and four limes. I do need a better zester. But as this is the only hard part of the recipe, so it is all good.
For a nice look, save a pinch each of the zest and chopped pepper to scatter over the wings just before you serve them. And, don’t forget, you can use the same limes for the zest and juice.
I used Naked Wings in the pictures. I believe any wings would work well with this sauce.
The recipe below only makes enough sauce to comfortably coat about a dozen wing pieces. If you are making Honey Lime Chicken Wings for a party, you will want to double or even triple this recipe.
